Screening of Secondary Metabolites and Antioxidant Activity of Wild Edible Termite Mushroom

Wild edible mushrooms produce a variety of bioactive compounds that are known to have antioxidant properties. Natural antioxidants can protect against oxidative induced free radicals without any side effects. Thus, they consumed by people for food and nutraceutical values. The purpose this study was evaluate the phytochemicals activity three wild termite (Termitomyces albuminosus, T. eurhizus robustus). Different were screened in 50% ethanol, methanol water extracts mushrooms. Total phenolic flavonoid contents determined Folin-Ciocalteau aluminium chloride method respectively. evaluated DPPH assay. Qualitative screening has revealed alkaloid, steroid, fatty acid, flavonoid, saponin, tannin, carbohydrate protein found species mushroom. A high amount total content ethanol extract robustus (TPC: 50.28, 54.56 57.63 mg GAE/g extract; TFC: 16.30, 18.43 18.80 QE/g respectively). Due content, shown (i.e., lowest IC50: 710.00 - 714.05 ?g/ml). These properties due presence secondary metabolites potentially be used as source natural form nutraceutical.
